Pupils from Henlow Academy triumphed at the Sportability Games last week with a win for a mixed team of Year 5-8 pupils in Goalball.

Goalball is a fully inclusive sport, where players are blindfolded and attempt to score using a ball containing a bell.

Henlow’s teams played a series of matches and were the overall winners, with Year 5 pupil, Rodney Codega winning an award for determination.

Rodney, who only recently arrived at Henlow from Italy, was delighted and said: “I like the game and the team. Goalball is fun. I enjoy it very much.”

Henlow participates in a full series of Sportability games, which provide opportunities for all children to succeed in sport.
