Hide AdCouncillors agreed that wrought iron gates and a screen can be dismantled. There will then be repair and restoration of the ironwork. It will be painted and re-erected on new footings with the stone base blocks.
The application was discussed by the council’s development management committee on Wednesday, August 15 because the process involves removing a mature oak tree that is damaging the screen.
Councillors recommended to the applicant that another oak tree is planted in the grounds as a replacement but this was not a condition of approval for the application.
